I began my attempts at improving my writing and I have kept with it. The results may bit be all that noticeable to anyone but myself. I am writing neater in my journals, for I figure these are for me to look upon again at some point. And I would like to think wow, what a moment that was to remember versus what on earth did I try to write down here.
I love pens. No doubt about it. I have who many but I don't know of any of them are just my favorite. I think I keep trying f all these new ones looking for something to fall in love with. I even have a couple of fancy pens from Retro 1951
See the three pens on the left with the silver tops. These feel wonderful in hand. The ink in the refills flow so smoothly. Only draw back is that I love to mix it up with some color. And although the pens can fit my mood at the time of writing. The ink color can get boring with just black and blue as my only options. They are quite pretty are they not? The red and purple ones I actually won from the company. The purple is a one of a kind test from their manufacturing.
Since my last post however I refound a couple old fountain pens in my collection. They were dried up and clogged with old ink. But they were nice to write with although a bit scratchy. So then began my Internet search for a fountain pen that was nice but economic. Upon a few reviews I found that the Lamy Safari model was a decent pen and I could find it for a good price. (That is the blue pen you see sitting on my journal on the left) Though the thought of having a Retro 1951 fountain pen was exciting, I just couldn't afford the $54 for a pen. Amazon actually had a damaged box Lamy listed in their warehouse deals for a very good price. Highly recommend checking there when looking for items, even fountain pens.
This pen is quite smooth and lovely to write with. The fun thing is I can get so many different color options that the choices are endless. Goulet Pens sell ink samples for all their colors of ink. Each sample fills up my pen twice and each fill gives me pages and pages of writing. I need more things to write lately just to enjoy the process of pen to paper. Ages ago when I got my fountain pens I didn't have ink options too much. I did find color cartridges once and awhile. But as you can guess if it wasn't at target or walmart then finding anything for them was hopeless. Also my shopping we pre-internet so that tells you just how long I have had these older 'cheap' pens.
I now have a purple Lamy Al-star and a Lamy Vista. The Al-star is a metal body pen and purple no less. The Lamy Vista is a clear body pen to show off the ink it is using. Since I was thinking of getting different nibs to pop on my pen so I could try a medium, fine, and extra fine, I figured for just a little bit more I could just get another pen. These three pens make me happy to write. They are easy to fill and use. I think this was a wonderful use of my Christmas money I had been saving up for when I found something I wanted.
Some folks might not understand my pen love, and that's ok. This small thing makes me happy and in life we should find and seek out the little things that brings us joy.
