Father, Daddy
The father of all mercy.. Sometimes we see our Heavenly Father through the lens of our earthly father. To think of God as Daddy, it sounds a bit odd, but he is our father.
2 Corinthians 6:18
“I will be a Father to you,
And you shall be My sons and daughters,
Says the Lord Almighty.”

11 days before Christmas
Twas' 11 days before Christmas, around 9:38
When 20 beautiful children stormed through heaven's gate.
Their smiles were contagious, their laughter filled the air.
They could hardly believe all the beauty they saw there.
They were filled with such joy; they didn't know what to say.
They remembered nothing of what had happened earlier that day.
“Where are we?" asked a little girl, as quiet as a mouse.
“This is heaven" declared a small boy. "We’re spending Christmas at God's house”.
When what to their wondering eyes did appear,
but Jesus, their savior, the children gathered near.
He looked at them and smiled, and they smiled just the same.
Then He opened His arms and He called them by name.
And in that moment was joy, that only heaven can bring,
Those children all flew into the arms of their King,
and as they lingered in the warmth of His embrace,
one small...girl turned and looked at Jesus' face.
And as if He could read all the questions she had,
He gently whispered to her, "I'll take care of mom and dad.
“then He looked down on earth, the world far below...
He saw all of the hurt, the sorrow, and woe.
Then He closed His eyes and He outstretched His hand,
“Let My power and presence re-enter this land!
“May this country be delivered from the hands of fools”
“I’m taking back my nation. I'm taking back my schools!
“Then He and the children stood up without a sound.
“Come now my children let me show you around.
“Excitement filled the space, some skipped and some ran.
All displaying enthusiasm that only a small child can.
And I heard Him proclaim as He walked out of sight,
“in the midst of this darkness, I AM STILL THE LIGHT."

I do not have the author information of who re wrote this poem, but this must be shared.
Yes, he needs to come retake his land...

Love for a touch screen.
SwiftKey Flow has saved me 7,000 keystrokes! Check it out at http://swiftkey.net
This is not like the Swype that comes built in your phone. You get the predictions of swiftkey when your typing or when your using swype. If you don't want to spend money at least try the free trial version for a month. Don't be afraid of the setup procedure. Just part of the process. I have used swiftkey for over a year. It has been the best. I have uses other touch screen devices and I really miss not having swiftkey on them. Anyhow, I just wanted to share this. I don't get commissions but just like to share with folks when I find something nifty.

Nanowrimo 2012
Really having guilty feelings for not giving it a try this year. I really want to write but just what always eludes me. Even for this blog I am often at odds just what to share or say.
Might of noticed I have had many more posts on here than lately. In my small little way this has been my nano. Not going to be writing 50,000 words by any means of the imagination but at least a few words closer than not writing anything at all.
I have a story I wrote a few years ago but lost the direction of where to take it. This was my work of fiction that is over the 50k quota. It was good, but fizzled out on me. Another piece was more of an autobiography. That's a real piece of work. I have only ever shared that with one other person.
Guess I look for validation that it's ok to write. But the fear I contain inside my heart sure has a tight grip on me.
Well, here are a few more words. :-)

Interesting
Watch "Delta Rae - Dance In The Graveyards: (official video)" on YouTube
A friend shared this on Facebook, her style is usually heavier metallic music. Though this song is not that, but I like it. I think I might have to add it to my music library.
What do you think?

Journal - the living document
Was surfing around the Internet today and came across this saying. I just loved it so much figured I would share it here.
May your journal be a living, breathing document of your life.
My life and thoughts are random. A d I think that's showing up here often.
Can't explain - Ever says red
Take a break today and listen to the song. Really hear the words and take him to heart. It took me a long time to track the song down when I used to listen to it on the radio. This was a long before the option to use an app to find it was available.
Enjoy!

Election
Let nothing disturb thee, let nothing dismay thee, all things pass, God never changes. Patience attains all that it strives for. He who has God finds he lacks nothing, God alone suffices.
Teresa of Avila
There is more I would like to say about the election results. But I suppose you don't want to hear what I have to say. My heart was deeply troubled last night and it was again this morning. But a good friend had posted the saying and it touched me deeply and so I share it with you.

November diabetes awareness month
American Diabetes Month® - American Diabetes Association
I wish I saw just as many gray ribbons this month as I saw of pink ribbons last month. But I have never seen one worn on someone.
Did you know diabetes had a ribbon?
Yup, we do and that's a gray one. For those who have lost their sight from this disease. But there is also a silver version. For hopes there will be a silver lining in our lives that comes by the way of a cure.
When I went to look for an image of our ribbon I could not find one. Instead it appears that gray now represents brain cancer as well. I know cancer is devastating. I am not here to belittle it. I just want you to know that diabetes is a killer, and it effects so many things. Just want to raise a little awareness.

Mental Jogging
My mind has been doing some mental jogging here today. And I have to say from it I am quite exhausted. However I have not done very much today at all. Instead of focusing on the task at hand, the one thing that I think that I should do my mind is coming up and thinking about 10 other things instead. Don’t I have a load of laundry I need to take out of the dryer? Did I fold those towels i put in the bucket when i put the new load of laundry in the dryer? What shall I make for dinner? Do I really have anything that will sound appetizing not just to me but to the rest of the family? Maybe I should clean out the fridge and get rid of the old stuff? Wait, today isn’t trash day, so clearing the fridge would be better task for tomorrow. Is there something else that I am forgetting to take care of? What shall do I need to get done the next two days, so that I am ready for a four day weekend?
Craziness to keep running through all these different scenarios but to end up back at square one. Trying to figure out is there something that I need to be thinking about, but really my mind is pulling this number so that I won’t stop in my tracks and just deal with it. I do think that there is something that has been troubling my heart. Maybe it has been noodling in the back of my mind, and its trying to make itself known front and center. When I sit down to think of this, as I am sitting down now, I can’t quite pin the tail on the donkey so to speak. I’m close - but probably not in the direction I need to be. So again my mind wanders around, is it the donkey. Now you know the OTHER name for donkey. Could that particular topic be just what i need to focus on. Sure can be a pain in the DONKEY, and certainly has been for a long time. Though I ponder which direction do I focus my gaze? Do I look through the window, or do I need a mirror? I am pretty sure it is a window - looking outward at the donkey. But what test do I apply here, too just make 100% certain I have the proper heading.
Now don’t you just love it, when someone writes, and circles around an idea but doesn’t quite really get to the direct point of what they are really trying to say. They write so that all parties involved are to remain anonymous. And if someone would happen to come across such works, they can’t PIN it on you. Oh how I love visual analogies, and this to me has certainly been on. At least by now I have a little bit of focus, so that I can process the thoughts that need to be dealt with. Do I need to run the vacuum?
Mental Jogging - can be such a time waster, certainly can be frustrating. May also be a way to protect. That might be another potential possibility. Guess I won’t know, until I get the towels folded.

How to Live a Beautiful Live
A dear friend had posted this picture on Facebook. I really did enjoy the message it was conveying, so I thought that I would post it here to share. I hope that the image is viewable. Though I suppose I could try to type it out. Author UNKNOWN. If I knew who wrote it I would give them credit.

Go with the flow
Problem is you have to move as well. Change with the flow of life. Not only is staying put next to impossible. But trying to can mr almost painful, all though it can be depending just where you stand.
So I feel that I have been trying to remain but I need to be moving. Going on with the flow. Even if the water isn't clear.

Not one word is spoken here and yet there are several emotions conveyed. Really makes me think about what costs have been paid by others for the freedoms we enjoy each day. This video touched my heart. Please honor them in taking time to watch.

Worst alarm clock
How about having to wake up and go to another room to turn off this alarm clock. There is no snooze button here, and if you unplug it there is a battery back up.
Though if you are a heavy sleeper, I suppose you could even sleep walk to turn it off then go back to bed.

Working after 70
Watch "Epic Old Man - Senile Cashier" on YouTube
I think that if I worked as a cashier and didn't need the money to make ends meet or pay for my health care this would be a way to help pass time from such a highly repetitive job.
Darkest hour
The Darkest Hour (2011) http://imdb.com/rg/an_share/title/title/tt1093357/
Not really a bad movie. Not that great at the same time either. Think of it as a smaller scaled War of the Worlds, the sparkled version.

At a loss
Monday, March 05, 2012
February 16th 2012
"Grief is like the ocean; it comes on waves ebbing and flowing. Sometimes the water is calm, and sometimes it is overwhelming. All we can do is learn to swim."
My emotions are coming and going. Simple things tigger the wave of emotions to crash down on me.
..;…
This was what I was feeling on this day. Not quite ready to write about my goodbyes I had to do on those days. The grief isn't as strong and raw now but the depression lingers. How long is too long to mourn such a loss when the depth of the relationship is such that many just don't ever understand or comprehend.

USA TODAY
Here is an article discussing the pro and con of each smart phone. Now I thought I would share my own opinion of which phone I might decide to upgrade to next when the time comes. And in the last month it has changed.
Allow me to share with you how I first dipped my toes into the smart phone world. I really didn't think I could justify the expense to bother with owning a black berry years ago. And after getting my hands on one I found the menu lay out to be absurd, not at all intuitive what so ever. I have had a few Motorola cell phones, then tried a couple lg feature phones. My previous phone was an lg env3. A decent phone that allowed me to have a taste of what its like to have the Internet with me anywhere I went. It was slow and basic but served my uses well. Then came time for me to upgrade, and I decided to go for it because Verizon was offering limited data plan of 150mg for 15 a month. So perfect for me, it was a way of easing into the smart phone realm of possibilities.
I have owned an iPod 32gb 3rd gen to upgrade to a 32gb 4th gen - and love it. I use my iPod all the time, in fact there are apps on there that are not available on the android market that has in a way required that i carry around my iPod even though I have a smart phone. So what does an iPod have to do with Android vs iPhone. Simply put an iPod is all the same stuff as an iPhone - just that the phone has, well, phone abilities, and also a much better camera than an iPod. So for the most part that has been my experience with the iOS system. When I was going to get a smart phone a year ago, the iPhone was not yet available with my carrier. And I was able to go with a phone that was rated highly with consumer reports.
(Side note - My first smart phone was a terrible flop that I kept for a few hours. This was the Microsoft kin 2. As a reviewer noted: The Kin Two is a cheap feeling, black plastic brick. The phone is not very heavy, which doesn't help the impression of cheapness. The sales person told me it would sync with windows outlook, hence the only way you could back up your contacts, there was NO other option. All my contacts would have to be manually inputted into the phone, and no way to recover. There were NO app options for it would not work with the Verizon market. I ate the activation fee of $35 reluctantly to go with the phone I originally wanted)
ANDROID
My first real smart phone was a Motorola Droid 2 certified pre owned. So a $199 phone I got for $50 with the same warrenty as a new phone - it had a slide out keyboard, that i thought i would use all the time. The battery life was longer than the Incredible I was looking at. The incredible did offer an 8mp camera where the Droid 2 gave me a 5mp. What sold me on this was the longer battery, and keyboard. All in all this phone was a great phone. Why do I mention it in the past tense, Verizon upgraded me. My phone was having a few issues with power cycling (where the phone turns itself off and back on) Which happens to be a common Android problem. but the kicker began when I would turn the phone off myself, the phone decided Nay, Nay and would turn back on. Needless to say to hear a loud robotic tone announce DROID in the middle of the night would really catch me off guard.
My Current phone is a Motorola Droid 3 - Verizon was all out of Droid 2's so they actually upgraded me to a Droid 3. It was still a refurb - but that has been ok. This phone has not given me issues at all. In fact I now have an 8mp camera, and HD video capabilities, the screen is larger than before, and there is also a dual core processor - what does that mean on a small phone? Well that means that I can load apps faster, switch between apps faster among other processing issues that are not always apparent I am sure. I love this phone. I have had the chance to view a few other Android phones, and their menus have been tweaked by the manufacturer, hiding some very basic settings or making some impossible to use at all. This un-uniformity - (ok not really a word, but I'm using it here) does make issues with Android phones. The open source can create an OS that crashes probably more frequently than the more secure and stable iOS on Apple products.
All this past year, I have kept thinking I really can't wait until my time comes to be eligible to upgrade, when that comes I had some pretty strong feelings that I would be an iPhone owner. Then I got the Droid 3 - this was a game changer. I think my Droid 2 was glitchy, this one isn't. I love the fact that no matter what I'm doing I can freely share in multiple formats. The iOS makes it so a link can be shared via email, or I can tweet about it. I have no desire to tweet really, to use at signs and hash tags so that others in the world can spam me with their amazing product that I didn't even know exists, or asked about. Most often I share with my very personal and select face book friends - however most of the time the option to share to facebook is not available. With the Android phone I can share links and pictures via email, facebook, twitter, text message, and blogger. I can pick any picture in my gallery, and share it right to facebook. That option is not available directly on the iOS - i can use email and then send it to my personal mobile email address on facebook. The option to share a photo you are viewing IN FACEBOOK there is no way to share on a mobile device - but with my Android phone I can view the image in full size and then tap the image to then share it to facebook. Plus I am sure there are more ways to use share on the android phone that would require me to look it up, but I really do think I have made my point.
So will see what happens when the time comes. Right now my upgrade phone choice is going to be the Motorola Droid Razr MAXX - this phone is so thin and light weight. And the one thing all Android phones have an issue with - the Maxx has a battery life longer than any other phone out there. Now if the iPhone 5 comes out and there are some changes and tweaks, my scale could tip back in the other direction. Who knows what will come out in the next six months that I have to wait to upgrade.
Well, you can read the article from USA Today about their Android vs iPhone. Then decide for yourself what phone are you going to be willing to commit to for the next 2 years. Remember, not all phones are alike. Play with them, read reviews. Phonescoop.com is a good website to look up information about any phone out there. When the time comes closer to the upgrade event, I might keep you posted. (Let me know if your interested)

Frito is sad
Sitting down to think my options over I pull out a hand full of Fritos. And one landed on the table that looked sad to me. So I took a picture. I didn't sharpie the picture. Would you believe I only have a purple sharpie. Don't even have a shoopie marker.
So the caption should read.

Here let me explain.
When all the new fish were introduced to the tank. One fish looked like he was a goner. Was almost ready to fish him out to return to the store. But decided to give him to the next day.
Really thought he was done for laying upside down. But floating from one edge to the other. Just didn't want to take care of him that night. Figured will take him back the next morning. However didn't have too. He was swimming around, swishing his fin like he was a dog wagging his tail.
Proceeded to just think he was in shock that first night and had to get over it. Well if that was the case. Was cleaning the fish tank. Draining some of the water off to add fresh to the tank. Lo and behold there is that flipping fish laying in the corner of the tank as if that was the end as we know it. Watched him for awhile and e just didn't budge. So I took a picture of him just to see if he was playing dead. Left the tank for about five minutes to return to the little guy zooming around the tank with bounding energy. Reminds me of a puppy racing around the house only to suddenly plop down somewhere and fall asleep. Only this fish was doing the same but in reverse.
Never heard of a fish playing dead. I know a rodent will to avoid death if a predator is eyeing the mouse as prey. A dead mouse isn't fun to chase as a live one would be. But this is a fish, laying upside down in the corner of the tank. That's usually a fish on the brink of death. But to have him alive and well. Guess when the time comes for the final flush to the great beyond will need to make sure that he really is dead.

YouTube, you crack me up
Was doing some research on YouTube, yes, I ended up surfing around and came across this video. This cracked me up. Hope it brings a giggle to you as well.
New year
Then I come to a realization this feeling is not coming from some trepidation of things to come because in dec I am looking forward. I believe this feeling I have happens to come with contend heart. 2011 was really a pretty good year. I do not feel I am sitting in a place I require change to improve. Although always room for that. Instead I have found myself in a place that has produced a happy heart. This is a good thing and a blessing. Not really familiar territory but still comforting.
I do wish that 2012 brings with it many blessings for it has already has here with in this first week. So onward I shall go. And with hopes to blog more and share my insights or at least cure my fellow man's insomnia.
