Was looking at a Facebook page called The Writer's Circle. They had posted a writing prompt talking about writing a gratitude journal. I love to journal. It allows me to process my thoughts. Often times it is when something is troubling me and i need to work through the idea some how. A way of putting it out there and hashing out what I need to think about. I probably write most often when things are bothering me, and not as often as writing things that I am grateful for. Now I do journal from time to time about things that have been a blessing in my life. I probably need to spend more time doing this, so I have a better record and or log of those good moments and less about the bad. Though the thing of it is, my writing helps me deal with those negative issues, so that no longer have "play" time in my mind. And I suppose the word play has a double meaning. To play, as in to play a song, or to play as in a play ground. I find that when the negative tapes are playing, I can write that stuff down, deal with it, and no longer have to keep going over and over the same thing.
