Have not fully tested this but read that one ipod user turns their ipod to airplane mode when experiencing a sudden Wifi connection drops. This user said he wants for the count of 5 seconds and then turns odd airplane mode. This has stopped the crash, and white apple splash. Hope it works, it sure is quite annoying to not have something work like it should.
